Manu Cultural Zone 5 Days

The program can change according to the road, weather and river conditions and wishes of the group.

manu-colibriDAY 1. CUSCO – MIRADOR  AMAZON LODGE.

We leave from Cusco by private bus, first stopping to visit the  pre Incas burial towers of Ninamarca .We then drive through the mountain  to get to the typical  folkloric town  of Paucartambo  here we will take a short  walk  around the town before carrying  on to tres cruces , the highest point of and  entrance to Manu national park . from here we will continue in to the cloud forest   and at san Pedro we will  walk  for around 1 hour to observe the  national bird of Peru , the cock of the rock  and many different kinds of monkeys,  plant and flowers .We arrive at our private rain forest lodge  in the evening  where we will stay for  the night.

DAY 2 .MIRADOR AMAZON LODGE – MANU RAINFOREST LODGE

After breakfast we will continue by private bus to Atalaya. slow-bearon the way we will stop to observe a coca plantation, we will also stop at a view point where you can get a good overview of the jungle and river . From Atalaya we leave by motorized boat to Aguas Calientes, where you can bath in the natural hot springs. During the boat trip we will see many different kinds of animals, especially birds, and a beautiful landscape. Then we will return up river to R.E.rainforest Lodge for dinner. After dinner we will take a night walk in the jungle to look for spiders and snakes. We will spend the night in our beautiful, comfortable lodge.

DAY 3. RESERVE ECOLOGICAL  ROBLES – THREE HOUSE
This day we will explore the jungle on our vast trail system, carrying a small day pack including lunch.
On the way we will see many different kinds of the animals such as monkeys, collared peccaries, birds such as eagles, parrots, toucans and medicinal plants and the giant trees. Later in the evening we get to the mammals clay lick we will prepare our beds in the tree house,taking shifts to watch for nocturnal animals (protected by mosquito nets). Reserve Ecological  ROBLES has 550 hectares is a very special rainforest: this is where the Andes and the lowland tropical Manu rainforest meet and provides the visitor with a chance to see a good selection of birds and plants from both zones as well as endemics to the area. Your first hike will be on the lowland trails, at 350m above sea level. Also at night, we explore the forest by flashlight looking for insects, snakes and the uniquely nocturnal night-monkey or ‘Douricouli’. We spend the night in tree house (mammals clay lick)

DAY 4.     THREE HOUSE – MANU RAINFOREST LODGE
In the morning we walk back to the lodge on a different track. There you have some time for relaxing and and a big breakfast.
Afterwards we go by boat upriver  to salvations lake There we will walk in The jungle and visit the lake  A balsa raft on salvations lake  gives  us  the opportunity  to observe more wildlife  and the beautiful sunset  in the jungle . jaguar-manuAfter dark we will have another opportunity to see some caiman eye.  In the evening we will build a bonfire, relax and have some drinks and a BBQ.  We will spend the night at the bank of the alto Madre de Dios River sleeping

DAY 5 MANU RAINFOREST LODGE – CUSCO
We will get up to visit the parrots clay lick and after breakfast we will return to Atalaya by boat , where our private bus  we will wetting for us  to take us back to Cusco  via the cloud forest . We will arrive to Cusco in the afternoon.
